Acute Effect of Noise(F-86F) on the Gastric Acidity

Abstract
¢¥The 14 healthy Korean young men were exposed for 30 min. to the noise of 80-110 phone, which was made through amplifying, by Hi-Fi amplifier, the tape-recording sound of noise in F-86F jet engine test.
Gastric acidity measurement was performed every 15 minutes for 105 min. Alcohol was administered as test meal at 30 min. later to the introduction of noise. The results of the investigation were revealed as follows;
1) At initial 15 minutes of exposure to the noise, gastric free acidity rised to 410% of fasting :acidity in control and at 30 minutes, to 450%. At 15 minutes later to cease of noise, the increased free acidity fell to 340/ of control.
2) The change of free acidities in noise-exposed group at 15 minutes and 30 minutes after the administration of alcohol was not different from those in control group, but the high acidity of noise exposed group persisted continuously to be higher by 55% than that of control group during 15 minutes after alcohol administration.
